New Cabins.ca pricing for 2008 a hit !
We revised and streamlined our pricing this year for our Cabins.ca New Streamlined Pricing for 2008 line of cottages and cabins. The response has been excellent and thank you to the clients who have emailed in with positive feedback.
Canadian Market for Allpro is "Hot" and Expanding
Allpro Building Systems has experienced a noticeable increase in our Canadian market. We have always shipped throughout Canada but 2008 has seen a 40% + increase in orders from Western Canada. The amount of lead activity in Ontario is up as well and once the snow melts, we anticipate a marked increase in the Eastern market as well.
Most of the increase is in Recreational product and Custom homes in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

We have added a video link to the front page of www.abshomes.com that shows an actual comparison build of a Habitat for Humanity Home, built using panelized walls, vs. one being built conventionally using stick framed methods.

All we hear about these days is the financial crisis in the Lending Industries. I am not sure if you know, but IndyMac Bank ( the largest lender to owner constructed builds) has suspended the whole Owner Builder Program.

Current U.S. Housing Market and Forecast
The U.S. New Home Housing market is down @ 12% this quarter of 2008 Nation wide. We have seen a noticeable decrease in inquiries from the U.S. since last Fall and our exports have dropped dramatically as well. We have been shipping to the U.S. for well over 14 years now and have seen a cyclical trend in housing sales usually during an election year.
People with land holdings will more than likely build vs. trying to sell in this market.
Being the optimistic bunch that we are, we do project a small increase in home exports later this summer or early Fall. The U.S economy will bounce back and always has.
Exports to Korea should start this Spring as well and we are in discussions on 2 developments there as well as a Mexico project.

An excellent article from Newsweek Magazine was added to our article page at Build and Save Website
It mentions how Panelized construction is used now on some green built projects because of efficiency and less waste. Keep in mind that Canadian wood for framing is sustainable and not from old growth forests or clear cutting as some would lead you to believe.
